I was getting bored with my current Mopar Stage 3 setup in my SRT-4. I rode in and drove a few big turbo SRT-4′s and it was love at first spool (literally). Most people end up going the AGP Turbo Kit route, but I wanted to do it the hard way.
I called up Willy over at Custom Tubes Inc and talked to him about a few different products.
I decided I would need a:
- stainless steel tubular manifold
- stainless steel 3″ downpipe
- stainless steel dumptube
- charge pipe
- front mount intercooler
- crash bar for good measure
- set of hard pipes
Willy was more than accommodating and gave me a great deal on the whole package. He said it would be a few weeks and would let me know when it was all done. True to his word a week later I got a phone call and we setup a Saturday afternoon where I could come and pick up the items. I arrived in Hampstead, NH and couldn’t wait to pick up my new turbo setup.
The quality was second to none, and the pricing couldn’t be beat. The length on the turbo manifold runners ensured I would be able to hold boost until 6500rpm. The design of the front mount intercooler was just inspiring. The placement of the inlet and outlet just makes sense, I can’t understand why more companies don’t use the middle placement. Willy did a quick weld on my hard pipe to add a stainless steel blow off valve flange for my Synapse BOV.
I can’t say enough about my experience with CTI, it was wonderful. The Custom Tubes Inc turbo kit, along with a Borg Warner S256, was enough to make 400whp and 420wtq on a conservative tune.
